Duty and tax

Duty. GCC customs duty is typically 5 percent on food imports, with some basic foodstuffs exempt; confirm the treatment of tea with your broker.

Tax. VAT at 5 percent on import, recoverable for VAT-registered businesses.

Paperwork for the UAE

Food imports are registered with the municipality food control authority (Dubai Municipality for Dubai) and declared through the importer's customs code; a licensed forwarder handles it for a café.
Retail labelling requires Arabic; our pouches can carry an Arabic ingredient panel. Bulk foil for your own drinks is exempt.
Halal: five of our lots come from a Halal and Kosher certified mill; the certificate ships with the goods.
Commercial invoice, packing list and per-lot COA with every shipment; some brokers ask for a certificate of origin, which we provide on request.
