Uji and Wazuka matcha, by request.

Kyoto is where ISSA MATCHA! began, with farmers in Wazuka and Minamiyamashiro. We do not list a Kyoto product in the catalog today; small lots are available on request for partners who need the name.

Why Uji · Wazuka

The name buyers ask for. The volume they can't get.

Uji is a finishing brand more than a growing region: tea from Kyoto, Nara, Shiga and Mie, blended and milled in Kyoto. Real Wazuka and Minamiyamashiro tencha is excellent and scarce. When a partner needs it for a menu, we source a named lot and tell you exactly which farm it came from.

Questions buyers ask about Uji · Wazuka

Why isn't Uji in your catalog?
Because we can't guarantee monthly volume at a stable price, and we would rather not list something we might have to substitute. Ask and we will quote a named lot.
Is 'Uji' a protected origin?
Not in the way a wine appellation is. The industry definition covers tea grown in four prefectures and finished in Kyoto. Always ask a supplier which field the leaf came from.
